Mechanical Dewatering Facility at Bull Run Fossil Plant
Anderson County, Tennessee
On September 27, 2012, TVA issued a final environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for its proposal to install equipment to remove water from gypsum and bottom ash generated at the Bull Run Fossil Plant in Anderson County, Tennessee. The dewatering equipment would be located in a new onsite building. Currently, bottom ash and gypsum, which are by-products of coal combustion, are sluiced to wet disposal areas onsite. Installation of the proposed facility would allow TVA to convert its bottom ash and gypsum handling processes to a dry basis.
