Solar Photovoltaic Installations
Project Description
TVA will install at least 500 kWs of solar PV at TVA facilities, TVA direct serve customer locations, or another government-owned facility (to include municipal utilities and all local public power companies), and shall maintain the PV installations for a minimum of ten years following approval of project plan. The project team will be selected through an open solicitation process based on a community solar business model. The community solar business model brings together individual donors, organizations, and investors to leverage community engagement and maximize individual stakeholder value.
Project Implementation
The project will be implemented through a request for proposals (RFP). The RFP will solicit proposals that adhere to TVA’s community solar model. Project proposals should address details such as leveraging of financial and stakeholder value, site selection, solar array design, feasibility of interconnection, and a community outreach plan. A diverse group of stakeholders should be assembled to work as a unified community team (e.g., corporations, government entities, representatives of the solar industry, businesses, and community organizations). Project selection will be based on criteria such as, but not be limited to, leveraging of cost sharing, project cost optimization, site desirability, community engagement, and project team.
