Scholarship Programs

TVA administers two types of scholarships:

• The TVA Employee Dependent Scholarship Program provides up to 16 scholarships annually in pursuit of undergraduate study for 2-year associate and 4-year bachelor degrees. It is available to the children of TVA employees below the corporate-officer level. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of a declared college major that aligns with TVA workforce development needs, academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered. The program awards up to 16 new scholarships each year.
• TVA and the distributors of TVA power also offer scholarships to children of distributors’ employees. Funding is provided through distributors’ membership in the TVA Power Distributors Scholarship Association and the annual TVA Power Play Golf Tournament. Tournament participants are distributor employees and vendors from throughout the TVA service area.
