Janet Herrin
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Janet Herrin is TVA's executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Herrin is responsible for all administrative, human resources and labor relations activities. She also oversees the areas of land and shoreline management, government relations, supply chain and facilities.
Herrin most recently served as executive vice president of People & Performance. Previously she was senior vice president of River Operations, where she was responsible for the operation and maintenance of TVA's 29 hydroelectric dams, 20 non-power dams, one pumped-storage plant and 14 navigation locks in support of TVA's mission of integrated management of water resources across the region.
Herrin began her TVA career in 1978 as a civil engineer and advanced from technical to management positions in several divisions. She is a professional engineer in Tennessee and holds master's degrees in business administration from the University of Tennessee and in civil engineering from Colorado State University. She also holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Willamette University in Salem, Ore.
Herrin is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Water Resources Association. She represents TVA as a member of several national and international organizations, including the National Research Council of the Water Science and Technology Board and the Wildlife Habitat Council. She has published numerous papers, primarily on statistical and flood hydrology, and serves on the advisory board of the University of Tennessee Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Herrin is a member and past president of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) and served on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Knoxville. She is a graduate of the 2005 Leadership Class of Knoxville.
