Electronic Stewardship Laws Requirements & Information

TVA along with all other Federal Agencies is required by the Energy Policy Act (EPAct05) and Presidential Executive Order (E.O.) 13423 to purchase electronic products that meet energy and environmental requirements.  Specifically TVA must:

1. Purchase 95% of computers and monitors that meet the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) requirements.
2. Enable Energy Star energy-saving features on all agency computers.
3. Extend the life of computer equipment through maintenance and upgrades.
4. Dispose of used electronic and computer equipment in an environmental way through reuse (donation to schools) and recycling.
